Arrive at the Clayoquot Field Station; check in and get settled (by 3 pm)

Reception with local community residents, including short orientation slideshow about the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Featuring Vancouver Island cheeses & wines

7:00 pm
Dinner in the Clayoquot Field Station dining area (catered by Trilogy Garden Café)

8:30 pm
Story Telling at the Fire Pit at the Clayoquot Field Station with George Patterson (director of Tofino Botanical Gardens) and Joe or Levi Martin (Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations)

PARKS CANADA tour of Pacific Rim National Park and Reserve(Schooner Trail, OR Nuu-chah-nulth Trail)

  • Hike and explore trails in Pacific Rim National Park Reserve
  • Take a pelagic bird watching tour
  • Go whale watching with one of the many charter companies
  • Take a covered boat tour to the nearby Hot Springs
  • Explore the 12 acre property at the Tofino Botanical Gardens
  • Walk to nearby beaches or to town to see the Roy Henry Vickers gallery
  • Enjoy a kayaking trip
  • Take a surf lesson!

Optional Mudflat Stroll: A 45-60 minute walk down to the Tofino mudflats to explore the intertidal zone and view shorebirds with a local naturalist.

Departure for 3 pm ferry from Nanaimo to Vancouver
