CZC 2008: Managing our Oceans and Coasts for a Sustainable
and Prosperous Future
CZC 2008 will mark thirty years since the first Canadian
national conference on coastal management (the Shore Management
Symposium) in Victoria in 1978, and it is an opportune time
to assess how far we have come towards managing our oceans
and coasts and where we are going in the future. This conference
will look at the advances and the setbacks in our understanding
and management of coastal and ocean systems, both in Canada
and globally, and will establish recommendations and actions
for the immediate future and the next thirty years.
Sponsorship Information
The 2008 CZC Conference will be made possible by the generous
support of co-sponsors and the registration fees paid by attendees.
Funding from co-sponsors is essential to ensure a high-quality
event in support of our individual and collective efforts
to understand, protect, and manage Canada’s oceans and
coastal zones in an integrated manner.
Opportunities for Sponsors
Sponsor benefits are outlined in the table included in the
Sponsorship
Information Package (PDF ). As a Conference sponsor, your
organization will be making a public statement of its commitment
to securing a “sustainable and prosperous future”.
The benefits associated with sponsorship will ensure that
your organization is recognized for this commitment.
Attendees at the CZC 2008 conference will include: scientists
from government and non-government agencies, universities,
First Nations, and the private sector; environment and natural
resource managers; policy-advisors and decision-makers; educators
and students; and concerned citizens. Sponsoring organizations
will be recognized in the conference program, the USB-based
